This restaurant is ridiculous. I worked there as a waitress for approximately 2 months, for 4 days a week. Just as a supplemental income to help our family get by on a day to day basis.
I only called in 1 time since beginning my employment with them on May 18th. I called in to tell them I couldn't make it in because I got hurt on the 4th of July, I fell and smashed my knee into the cement and could barely walk. Now, being a waitress you have to be able to walk to do your job. The lady I talked to when I called in, said the owners were not there and she was laughing like I was lying about getting hurt. She proceeds to tell me to come into work anyways and let the owner send me home if I can't do my job, because she didn't want to end up working a double. I told her I can barely walk and can't do my job, and that I was going to the doctors anyways.
So I hang up & go to the doctors and get checked out. Got an x-ray & was told I sprained my knee. My doctor told me to rest my knee for a few days and to stay off it as much as possible. She wrote me a doctors note to be off untill my next scheduled work day, which was to be 4 days from then.
I called work back and told the lady that I talked to before that I needed to talk to 1 of the owners, she tells me neither one of them are here still. I was like, ok, well I'm not coming in because I just got back from the doctors and can't come into work. She says, Oh yeah right, like you went to the doctors in an hour. I said, YES I DID, and I have a note as well. She tells me hold on let me get the owner. I was like wait a minute, I thought you just told me he wasn't there, she says he's in the back, hold on.
She comes back to the phone and says, He says your Fired. I said, WHAT??? I'm fired for being hurt and having a doctors note? She says yes, your fired, you missed a day a week anyways. Plus you don't know how to do your job either. (Which is a total LIE) I only missed 1 day before this incident occured, Plus if I didn't know how to do my job, then why would I make tips when I worked, and why did they keep me for 2 months?
Also she states that I'm still new and this looks bad on me to call in and not come to work. (2 months isn't very new) And that I only have 3 days to work that week and she had to work 7. BOO HOO!!! Cry a river, It's not my fault that she has no life and spends all her time there working. These kinda people have no respect for anyone. I was so pissed off that my blood pressure was thru the roof. I felt like beating the sh* out of this a*hole lady.
Bottom line, don't ever work for this company, they really really suck!!! They are looking for a lawsuit to happen.
Plus their food isn't really all that good. They always have complaints about the food having hair in it or being burnt. Plus the cooks smoke while they cook your food, and it's not a very sanitary place either. I wouldn't recommend anyone eat there either. So if your looking for a nice place to eat in Michigan, please do yourself a favor and Don't eat at Seros. You may never know what goes on behind the scenes. Get the word out and tell everyone you know. I am!
