Because of they're lies and. Scams. My husband and I are stuck with a $9000 bill. It is along story, but the short and not so sweet of it is that they lied to me about my loans, and then gave wrong addresses to collection agencies and the US department of education. I had to drop out because of their scam andwas told to start paying my loan that was suposably through them as I had been told I was denied for any other financing. I paid off what they said I owed almost 2 years ago. Recently I received a notice that if I ddidnt pay the department of education within 65 days my wages would be garnished. I called and there is a $8000 dollar loan out in my name. I asked why I had never been notified. They said they had sent notifications to a city I have never even been to, and that was the address given them by the school. My account had been sold to a debt collection agency. This is a mess. My credit is trashed and I don't know how we are going to pay this.
