Employees lie to, harass, and use customers to meet their own quotas

I am disgusted with everything about Wells Fargo. I worked as a teller from March to July and quit because of the complete lack of ethical behavior from the employees to the customers. Here are just a few examples:

1. Customers are consistently lied to about products and services by employees trying to convince them to sign up for them. Employees often fail to mention that there will be fees or conditions on accounts customers are opening.

2. No one in that entire branch will help customers unless they are opening an account. Customers with even the simplest of requests are told to call the 800 number. Customers who have called the 800 number are told to call it again. One particularly lazy manager wouldn't print out a bank statement for a woman who needed to close her recently deceased mother's account. He threatened to charge her $5 for every month she needed to print and told her to call the 800 number.
Another tactic is to tell customers that they need to go back to the branch that they opened their account at and talk to the person who opened it. That is not feasible for someone who's had an account for over 20 years. When a customer comes into our branch because another branch told them to, they are told to call the 800 number.

3. Employees meet their quotas by opening up accounts that customers haven't requested or opening up accounts for one another. One customer was particularly incensed because a banker had opened an account for her without her permission, and checked her credit to do so. She was trying to purchase a house at the time and this interfered with the process.

4. Many of the customers at the branch I worked at are elderly or have severe mental illnesses. They are particularly preyed upon by employees looking to open more accounts.

5. One woman had fallen victim to an internet scam and had a counterfeit cashier's check. The bank manager told her that he could negotiate it if she opened an account knowing full well that he couldn't.

6. One employee tells customers that have recently moved to the area that they need to close their existing accounts and open new ones, otherwise anytime they have problems with their account they will have to deal with the branch they originally opened their account at.

I could write several more pages about how they treat their employees. However, I have never worked at such an unethical, unprofessional, appalling company in all of my life. I would run as far as you could from this bank.
