NCRC does not do what they say that they do. They make your payments late, do not negotiate a low interest rate or payment plan, always spend time "researching", irrepairably ruin your credit rating, and have a high monthly fee that is NOT tax deductable.
After a wonderful introduction to NCRC and all the wonderful things that they can do for me, they started off by telling me how evil and manipulating the credit card companies were, just to fuel anger I think. I joined the program, which initially, is supposed to take 3 months of consistent payments to enroll in the debt management program.
After about 4 to 5 months, the program was only working on 1 out of 3 credit cards that I enrolled. I contacted NCRC and they said they would perform an investigation which could take 1 to 2 months. After 3 or 4 months, nothing had changed and they were in the process of performing ANOTHER investigation. They also proceeded to tell me that it was my fault it had gotten this far because I did not monitor my statements close enough. Yeah right.
Anyway, after about 2 years on the program, only 1 card was enrolled while 2 other were severally affecting my credit rating. My initial card balances went from $4,500 to around $8,000 per card with 20% or higher interest rates and phenomenal late fees still being tacked to the cards. I cancelled the program, contacted the card companies directly and set up programs through them with 4% to 5% interest and not fees at all. After one year, the cards will be re-instated and credit repaired.
Please do not use NCRC for any of your debt management. They make the payments late, always have to "research", and never get the interest rates or payments reduced low enough and they charge a $35 per month fee that is supposed to be tax deductable, but funny enough, was not according to my CPA.
