I began the NCRC debt consolidation program in Jan 1999. They told me they would contact my creditors and work out a payment plan as well as get the interest reduced. They also stated that the program would be an asset to my credit rating. Prior to joining, all of the monthly payments were on time and my credit standing was good.in the 2 years I have been in the program, NCRC has ruined my credit rating, if payments are made at all they are late, even though they take the money directly out of my account each month. They never contacted half of my ccreditors so I am still paying outrageous interest rates, and needless to say I am still in as much debt as I was 2 years ago.
The representatives are impossible to reach by phone and when I do speak to someone they are rude and tell me they will handle things, which they never do. Recently while trying to buy a house I was informed that this consumer credit counseling code on my credit report looks as bad as bankruptcy, and I would have been better off if I had filed for bankruptcy.
Don't fall for their scam! They will ruin your credit!
