Do not buy american tv!!! A bunch of baloney with the credit service!!! If you plan to pay off your balance in the 12 months, DO NOT pay a lump sum in the first payment. THE MINIMUM PAYMENT WILL NOT go down!!! For instance, We made 2 purchases, one for $1600, and another a few days later for $550. The first bill came with a minimum due for $141. I paid $800. The next bill came, (which I'm not sure if I didn't get it or if it was misplaced) but I knew the payment was due so I paid the minimum due on the first statement-which was $141) I got the next statement which included a late fee of $25. I called and they told me that even my payment was made on time, I did not pay the minimum, which changed to $188. They graciously forgave the late fee, but told me my balance of $1300 now had a minimum payment of $240. I asked for the minimum payment to be reduced to $130, which would pay my balance off in the 10 month time period. They refused because of a "quote" in the (long and tiny!) card agreement that they have you sign at time of purchase. Number figuring, I should be able to pay $130 a month to pay off the balance for the "12 month interest free" time period allotted. They refused and told me I must pay the $240/month which would pay me off in 6 months! No exceptions! I first tried a phone call, (I did not get nasty). I took the phone review and also was nice, but expressing my concern. Then I sent an on-line comment and was told that I did not read the card agreement which said that they take the total amount purchased divided by 12 to figure the minimum due, which will never change. No budge what so ever! Bs!!! I make purchases with the free interest frequently, and never had a card where I have to pay much more than the amount due divided by 12!!! I did not want a high monthly amount due, and when I initially made the purchase I wanted to pay cash and then credit which I was told they could not do. MANNNNNN!!! DO NOT BUY FROM AMERICAN WITH CREDIT BECAUSE THEY SCREW YOU if you are trying to budget!!! Bs!!! Not happy and want to share. BEWARE!!!
(makes me wonder if i should have been nasty in the first place!!! (like i'm sure they have already experienced!) i would hate to be an employee of american tv credit services!!! I feel sorry for them!)
