I received a phone call from a representative in early January about a credit card from Global Financial. After explaining all the great benefits including free gas, free groceries, and tons of other things they told me the fee...$21.95 or so I thought. Perhaps I misunderstood or the connection cut out for a second but it was actually $221.95.
After receiving my bank statement (with several bounced checks because of this) I realized what had happened and tried to cancel the card. Just like so many others, I was told to send the card back when I received it. So I waited... After 2 weeks I called them back and was told that there were shipping problems and to give it a few more weeks.
By this time I was furious. After 2 more weeks I called back and they told me to send back the benefits packet and the refund will be sent to me. WHAT BENEFIT PACKET? I eventually received a benefits packet (which I still have) but then I was told that I had wait for a refund form to be sent by Global Financial.
Well when no form came I called back, and the phone was no longer in service. I have read several reports from people who've gotten their money back through banks and even went as far as contacting a bank in Arizona and spoke with a man named Robert who told me to fax my statement and a letter with what happened and he would review my case.
What happened... NOTHING! I was a college student at the time and $220 was a lot of money for me. I have been trying for 2 years for this refund. If anyone has received any kind of money from these people I would love to hear about it.
Please help if anyone can!!! We need to rally together and put these people where they belong!
