My company has received 12 letters within 2 days stating that payroll checks were cashed at Walmarts and the funds were insufficient. Complete Payment Recovery Services, Inc. Claims to be a debt collector collecting this money and offers us an 800 number and a website to pay.
The check numbers provided do not match our payroll checks and the signature is no one at our company. No copies of the checks were provided.
There are 3 locations for this company on the letter: Northport, AL, Tuscaloosa, AL and Tampa, FL. Upon googling this scam, I believe this "company" also goes by the name "CPRS" and "Certegy Payment Recovery Services".
We did not pay anthing to this company and I don't recommend anyone providing them with any money or information.
