Idiots - I tried getting some information about my account. The first person I spoke with asked for my name, SS # and birth date. Gave her the information and she provided the information I wanted. I called back looking for a little more information, primarily the interest paid last year for tax purposes. This time the person I got said I had the wrong birthdate and demanded I sent them a birth certificate. I assured her my birthdate had not changed in over 50 years and certainly had not changed in the last two hours. The person was adamant I sent them a birth certificate. I went to their website and found out I could get the tax information on line. But when I tried to create an account, I kept getting messages that neither my SS# or account number matched any of their records. I called the 800 number on their website and got to speak with not one, but three idiots - the person who answered the phone, her supervisor and the supervisor's manager. The problem was, they said, someone at AES must have entered a typo and I needed to provide them with documentation so they could fix the problem they created. When I suggested they check their records, I was told the only record they could check was the promissory note of the loan and they did not have that. I suggested they should get the promissory note instead of me running down the documentation they wanted. I also suggested that I was going to stop payment on the check I had just sent until they had the promissory note and could actually establish I owed them anything. I also told them I was stopping payment on the check I sent and would be sending no more payments since I did not trust they would even credit the correct account. Morons
