I was looking for an apartment in Omaha Ne through the internet. When I clicked on the apartment site that I was interested in seeing Score Sense popped up. It would not let me proceed to the apt web site until I obtained my credit score. It says free credit score. However once again it would not let me proceed until I entered my credit card and they charged me $1.00 for the service. There was a box that I did not mark that gave them permission to monitor transactions on my credit card.
Several days latter there was a charge for $29.95 on my credit card for membership with Score Sense. Upon calling the company at 800-679-6327 I was told that they would submit a claim to Corporate to see it I could get a return on my $29.95. The lady said that I had been sent an email. The email said that if I did not repsond to it that email I would be charged this membership fee.
This money was taken out on the 20th of March. I am not wealthy and toward the end of the month this could have easily caused me and overdraft. I just happened to check my account before an overdraft was caused by this charge.
This company needs to be fined for such practices.
