On May 13, I recieved a letter from GC Services threatening to garnish my paycheck if I did not contact them about paying off my student loan. I contacted their office in Columbus OHIO, and spoke to GC Services employees Jason Foley, Iyeshia Hercules, and Tameika Strider.
I then reviewed and sent them the enclosed application.
UPS lost the package I sent them for 2 weeks, and during that time, I stayed in constant contact with GC Services. They assured me that there was no problem since UPS had re-routed the package.
I made arrangements with a GC Services employee, Jason Foley, to make monthly payments, by phone, each month.
The arrangements were that I would make a payment by phone, once a month for 3 months, and then I would be sent a coupon book for the remainder of my payments.
The following week, I contacted GC Services to make my first payment. The person I talked to then changed his story and demanded that I send him 4 cancelled checks at once. I told him that was not the agreement that we had, and that since he was the person that I had made the arangements with, that he should know better than to change the conditions of our arrangement.
I gave GC Services a check by phone on June 11. The employee said her name was Michelle Kitchen. She verified my bank and routing number. A week later, I recieved a letter from GC Services in Houston TEXAS dated June 16, saying that I had not made the scheduled payment.
It was singed by a Brian Gentry.
I contacted GC Services twice, and they assured me that there was no problem with my payment. The employee I spoke to said his name was Germaine.
I checked with my bank once a week to see if the check had cleared, and my bank replied that it had not. Again, I contacted GC Services employee Iyeshia Hercules, who assured me that even thought they had posted the check, "it would not show up at your end."
I contacted my bank on July 1 to see if the check had been cashed. Again, the bank said that it had not been cashed, and that the funds were still in my checking account.
My bank stated that it was very strange that
GC Services had told me that "it would not show up at your end."
On July 5 I recieved another letter from GC Services in Houston TEXAS saying that my check was "returned unhonored" by my bank.
They demanded the amount to be paid in full, and added another $54.60 to the amount that I owe. Again, it was singed by a Brian Gentry.
I have done everything possible to cooperate with these people in order to pay off my student loan, but it seems that GC Services
has other plans.
They are in possesion of my personal and financial information.
