Providian Visa Card
Ripoff poor customer service unwilling to help me during financial hardship sent me threatening communications

I am very unhappy with Providian. For a company who advertises helping one rebuild their credit they certainly didn't help me!

When I began having financial hardship, I phoned them to work out a payment plan. I really needed them to quit adding interest and late fees which were increasing my debt to them. They refused.

Once they knew of my difficulty to repay in a timeley manner the harrassing phone calls began. The phone calls were so numerous, the stress of knowing I was getting deeper into debt with them on top of everything else led me into deep depression.

I finally went to a consumer debt counselor to help negotiate for me. Of the bills that I have paid off, Providian is the only one not to accept a settlement.
