I recently purchased a horse trailer for my daughter. I put cash down and had them finance the rest. This has been about a month now, and I have not recieved any correspondence from them in a form of a letter, payment book, Nothing!
I recieved a phone call on Wednesday evening and spoke to a representative and explained to her the situation. She verified my information and told me that this happens on new accounts. I told her that I would be gald to make the payment over the phone. She tol;d me it would be a $7.00 fee to do this, so I could just put the payment in the mail, and she would not my account. I promptly wrote the chck out and took it to the post office where it would go out the next morning (Thurdsay 5/27).
I then recieved another call just before 9pm the same night from a collection rep wanting me to make a payment. I went over the story again, he stated that he would have waived the $ 7.00 charge, I expained to him that I just placed the payment in the mail like I was asked to do and that It will go out in the morning.
I then continued to get 5 more phone calls the following day (Friday 5/28), all to whom I explained the situation to again. At this point I was tired of repeating myself and getting excuses as why the "computer" keeps calling me back.
Saturday 5/29 was no different. I recieved 4 more calls. Two were left on my answering machine to call a fictitous person "Victor". I returned the calls to explain my situation. Upset at this point, I asked why they have to keep calling me, and not give the payment time to get there. Again all I get is excuses as why the computer keeps calling my phone#!
Sunday 5/30, at this time I was feeling harrassed! What have I done to deserve this treatment? I have not even heard of this company since Wednesday, and now I have been getting 5 calls daily! I spoke to several people today, and eventually did not answer anymore of the call.
Monday, Memorial Day. Family was over to enjoy the day, and again more calls from Green Tree. I was so upset at this point! I explained to the representative how many time they have called and that I explained this over and over again. She sd there were no documentation of them talking to me... I was fuming at this point. My voice shaking and my blood pressure rising. My voice was raising, I was told by this representaive to settle down, that I was being childish, to shut up and then continued to hang up on me! I called back to ask for a supervisor in the department to try to settle this, and was told that I was not going to get to speak to anyone and hung up on again.
My husband called back to try to talk to them nicely since I was a mess, only for them to hang up on him. He tried to call again and was told to quit harassing their employees! So when is trying to settle this considered harassment?
About an hour after all this, my nerves were settling down and i was trying to enjoy the holiday with family, when i get another call! At this point I asked for the pay off amount and forwared a complaint with the Better Business. I also called the dealership that uses this company to let them know what kind of service they are dealing with.
Their company is Mudd to me, and to everyone I talk to, I will let them know to stay clear of using this company for thier financial need! I have never seen such a poorly, disfunctional company in all my life! I just wonder, with all the "gray" areas that they were with me, how legally, they can still be in business!!!
