Ripoff Dell Financial Services Harassment New York

I agree whole heatedly with Diane, South Lake Tahoe, California, U.S.A.; it's time to stop Dell. Can't we do a class action? I would not know how and do not have the resources to do that. Maybe someone knows how this can be done with a reasonable amount of time and resources.

I can't believe Dell can get away with this. It is David and Goliath once again. I feel so helpless. It is like no one cares and we the consumer are totally at Dell's mercy. They can do whatever they like.

In October I decided to buy a new computer to replace my computer that was outdated and needed a lot of upgrades. I decided to get a Dell and was happy to be getting a new computer. Not realizing what nightmare was to take place. I called Dell on September 30 and purchased a computer. We had discussed Dell Preferred Account which I considered until I found out what the APR was and could do much better with my other Credit Cards. I declined the Dell Preferred Account and paid my purchase in full with another credit card. I got my computer and felt all was well.

I get tons of junk mail and if I am not expecting particular correspondence I simply shred it, sometimes without even opening it. I know what all my statements and billings look like and anything I don't recognize gets tossed. Knowing that I paid Dell in full for my purchase, I did not pay attention to their correspondence. I remember thinking; here we go with junk mail from Dell. I continued to get mail from Dell Financial Services, which I thought was strange, so I opened it and realized it was a statement with a charge of $55.45 with an APR of 25.20%. I could not believe it.

As it turns out, I was charged for a product twice. It shows up on my credit card as Dell Catalog Sales LP for $55.45 and then again on this Dell Preferred Account. Then you know the rest. The nightmare begins.

I have made countless calls, time, and energy, trying to straighten this out with Dell. I even got a hold of a couple of customer care representatives that seem understand that I was charged for the same product twice. With relief I thought finally someone would take care of this. Then the letter from the collection agency comes, LTD Financial Services. I am bewildered. What in the world is this now? I played phone tag with LTD Financial Services, which do not have a toll free number from Hawaii. Now I am racking up long distance charges. I finally get a hold of an agent that refers me back to Dell Customer Care. I tell you I have been referred to so many numbers; I can create a directory for Dell, if only I knew what the hell these numbers do. At this point everything starts to get fuzzy, I mean I have talked to so many people it is not funny. I find myself starting from the beginning again. I am explaining myself all over again, which you would think they should have a case history in their computer.

I am back in contact with LTD Financial Services again; who asked me information confirming the charge on my credit card. I felt a little relieved that this matter would be taken care of again. I know I am using the word again a lot, but believe me, I feel I am on a merry go round, you know, the circus ride.

Then the 120-day thing hits my credit reports, delinquent. I then contact Dell Financial Services again, only to be referred to another collection agency that is demanding payment and proceeds to tell me this will affect my credit for 7 to 10 years. Be the way, I now owe $181.00 with late charges and interest from $55.45 for a purchase I already paid for in full.

I feel like I am in the Twilight Zone, Outer Limits. I feel harassed and wronged for credit that I have worked very hard to establish and maintain. This is the only bad thing on my credit reports. This has been a great injustice.

This has been going on for months. I just don't have the time and energy to continue dealing with this. I now find myself paying legal fees to clear up my credit report.

Unbelievable for something that Dell created themselves. I firmly believe that this was that fault of a Sales Rep. Who probably had to meet her sales quoted to push opening Dell Preferred Accounts to get credit.
