Ripoff and fraudulent billing

I had a balance of about $100 in June'2003 I moved from NY to NJ & sent an address change notification to Aspire Visa, but they didnot update the address & kept sending the bills to the old address.

I realized this after about 6 months, when my application for a credit card was rejected. I tried the customer support but kept ending up with an automated system. This automated system was so bad & it kept cutting off the line. Finally after 2 weeks of attempts, I was able to talk to a real person. I was told that my a/c balance was about $430. I asked them to send a detailed bill, for which they charged $5

I talked to a representative & he told me that if I would pay $330, they would close the a/c & report the same to the credit agencies. Having no choice, I paid $330.
However, even after this payment, they kept sending statements & letters from a collection agency. I spoke atleast 3 different people at Aspire & they all confirmed that my a/c was closed.

However, the statement & calls kept continuing. I talked to Aspire yesterday & they tell me that i still have to pay $240 (late fees of $35 per month finance charge @ 38% APR) I got sick of the whole business & finally paid off the whole amount. I paid $240 & requested them to close the a/c this time.

I hope Iam rid of this ripoff company. I checked my credit history & see that they have reported my a/c as delinquent.

I advise people to never ever apply for a credit card from Aspire
