Omnia Credit Services
Ripoff they will lie cheat and do what ever they can to get your money

Beware of this company! They will do what ever they can to con you out of your money!

I received a phone call about a 2 years ago from a Mr. Vargas from an Omnia Credit Services. He explained to me over that I had an account with "another company that was turned over to us for collection."

I had asked him what the collection was and all he would give me was the amount that was owed. This amount was for $1200. I did not remember having any open accounts that would have been turned over to a collection agency, and I told him this.

He again told me that the account was turned over to them and he needed to collect the money from me. He first asked me to pay the account in full and told him that I did not have that kind of money and once again asked him what company turned my name over to his company. He then went on to tell me that if I did not have the full amount at that time, that I could set up auto with draws from my checking account and that I could pick the date the money would come out of my checking account. All that he needed was my checking account number.

Again I asked him what company turned my name over to his company for collection. He again tried to get out of answering my question. I told him that I was not giving him any money until he told me what company turned my account over to Omnia Credit Services. I did tell me. I told him that the account had been paid off and that I was not giving him any money. I hung up.

He called back and insisted that I begin making payments to him or that he would have to take me to court. I then asked him to send me a statement or something that showed the name of the company that I owed the money too and the amount that I owed. He refused and told me that they do not handle accounts this way. All of their business was done over the phone.

To get him off the phone, so I could do my own research on this matter, I told him that I would not give him my info to him at this time, but if her were to give me a call back in 2 weeks that I would be willing to do a payment over the phone at that time. He agreed to this and hung up.

I began to do some research and found out that I did not owe this company any noney and they are not sure how Mr. Vargas or Omnia Credit Services got my name.

I wanted for Mr. Vargas to call and on the day that he said he would call back, he did. He began to ask for the back information and the amount that I was going to pay. I told him that I had contacted the company and they had no record of me owing them any money. Mr. Vargas pushed the issue and told me that of course I did not own this company any money, they turned the unpaid account over to Omnia Credit Services and I now owed them the money.

I refused and hung up the phone. Few days later, Mr. Vargas calls back I tell him that I will not pay him any money. I jung up the phone. Some time had gone by without a phone call.

He called once again. I told him that if he wanted any money out of me that he was going to have to send me a letter that all credit collection agencies send. He informed me that he was not working for a collection agency, he was working for a lawyer and that he would not send me any letters. That was not how they did business. I again told him that I was not sending any thing to him until I got the letter and hung up.

This is when, I beleive, that my right were violated. He started to call me every day, leaving messages on my voice mail. The message was simple, he needed to talk to me about the account and to call him back. This went on for about a month. We have caller ID so I knew when it was them calling.

Then the messages, changed. He began to tell me that if I did not begin making the payments that he would file a law suit and take me to court.

I began doing research on the net and found out that he could not sue me and take me to court. But this is what he told me everyday on the phone. That went on for about a week.

Then I started to get 2 phone calls a day, then it went to 3, then it jumped to 4 calls a day. It then got worse. For about 2 weeks Mr. Vargas called me every day on the hour from 8 am to 7 pm leaving me a message on my machine.

There were a few times that I would pick op the phone and then hang it back up, but this just prompted him to call right back.

I found a comsumer advicate on line that gave me some advice. The advice was to call his boss and inform him of what was going on. I did that, the phone calls got worse. My next step was to write a cease communication letter. I wrote 3 of those, he still continued to call. I was then told the next time he called, I was to answer it and tell him that the accesive phone calls were violating my Fair Credit Act rights and if he did not stop right then and there that I would file a report with the Fair Credit Agency and the California State Attorney General.

This did not seem to bother him. He continued to call. I did what I said that I would do and reported him and Omnia Credit Services.

The calls did stop about 2 to 3 weeks later. I was one of the lucky ones, they did not steal my money.

If you get a phone call from Omnia Credit Services, hang up and do not talk to them. They are con-artists that will do or say anything to get money out of you. I found out that they could not sue me, they are in California and we are in a different state. Mr. Vargas did not work for a lawyer.

We have rights, and those rights are not to be violated. Some of our rights are as follows. A collection agency has no power to file any law suits, saying you are going to file a law suit and not doing so is a violation of your rights. A collection agency can not call you more that once a day and no more than 3 to 4 times a week. They can not tell you that they are working for a lawyer or in a law office when they are not.

Do not fall prey to Omnia Credit Services or any other collection agency.
