First week of December

My wife owes a bill from Wells Fargo Financial that unfortunately got turned over to Associated Credit Services. These people kept calling us and never left a message on my machine. They have called my neighbor and told them who they were and to leave a message for us to contact them about an important financial matter that needed resolved right away and we were to call them back as soon as possible.

After calling them to find out who these people were, the representative started prying into my financial business and asking for account numbers and such so they could get the money we owed them. Then the person on the other end was told that the account was turned over to a debt management agency. That's when it got a little interesting. The company rep started telling me that the agency I chose to help us out was going to do nothing but ruin my credit score and my life and I should contact a different company to help us pay off these bills we owed. He even named the company. He then proceeded to explain to me that I would have been better off paying them off direct or even going bankrupt. At this time I cut the call short and told him that this was the only way I was able to get the bills paid down.

The calls stopped for about a month...

Now it's mid January

We got no calls on my home phone. We did get a message on my cell phone though to call them. So I called them and started the conversation by asking who gave them or how did they get my cell phone number. They refused to give that information. I informed them that this was my cell number, not hers. I told them to never call my cell number again and it is illegal for them to use that number unless I gave it to them or give them permission which I am currently will not allow. The rep started doing again by trying to get account information and digging in financial business. Then they tell me that they refused the payment arrangement made through my debt management agency. The rep then started asking me to pay off this money all now because they want their money. Proceeded to start asking about how much I was getting back on my income tax return and wanted me to pay them with that. I made the comment that this information was none of their business and I would not give them that information ever. The rep told me I was being rude and abruptly hung up on me.

I proceeded to call them back and asked to speak with a supervisor. I was on hold for about 5 minutes and the call was lost. I called back again. And same as last, I asked for a supervisor. On hold for another 2 minutes and finally hopefully someone I can talk to right.

Wrong...

The new rep on the phone started telling me that I owed the money and I needed to pay up now and she wasn't taking no for an answer. Then proceeded to explain to me how to handle my money and even went into prying into my financial information and telling me that she was in the right and I was being rude and she wasn't going to tolerate any type of negative attitude from me and started telling me that I need to listen to her telling me how to handle all of this.

I abruptly hung up.

Now understand...
Not once did they ever ask to talk to my wife to ask permission to talk to me about any of this information in any of the conversations I had with them.

I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau about this unprofessional unwarranted attitude and personal prying I was forced to deal with.
