In Sept. Of 2001 I ordered software from a 866 number representing National Billing to sell Medical billing software. They did explain that it was not guaranteed, so after listening to the sells pitch I proceeded to give my banking information and set it up for about five days later. Around the third day I tried to call and cancel my order after seeing the bbb report on the company, but the answering machine came on so I left a message. On the fourth day, I spoke with the original representative Tish that I ordered it through and told her to change the date to a later date which was appr. About five days later, and she told me no problem.
On the third day I left a message to cancel the order with my name and number, so on the fourth day I called to cancel the order completely before they proceeded with my account, and Tish told me that I had canceled the order on yesterday. So I then proceed to ask her is she positive that my account will not be debited for $299.00, and she told me that she was sure.
The next day for some off reason, I recieved the software in the mail, then went to check my account and they took the money anyway.
When I called back they told me that it was not their problem they were just a calling center and to go onto the national billing website and call that number. Which I did, and the number is constantly business. So then I went to contact the company listed on the package of the software e soft billing in mission viejo, ca, and they said that there was nothing they could do because they no longer did business with national billing.
After hearing all of this, I am an at home mom and really did not have the money in the beginning. What can we (people that really do not have the money) do to stop these companies from doing this?
Oh yeah the software is full of crap
