Ripoff scam

I had been a customer of consumerinfo.com for years, when they actually assisted consumers, but with the increase in Identity Theft, Experian used scare tactics to draw consumers in as well as consumers obtaining credit scores, then their service went into the toilet.initially I could go to the site and request a report, then they raised the annual fee and posted only quarterly reports, which were not updated but unless you made an additional payment for your score, you would never know they weren't updating. Neat scam.

I contacted Experian, because consumerinfo.com was charging me annually for a service they weren't providing and then consumerinfo.com had the audacity to bill me for another year. Strange that when I called to cancel they were able to locate my e-mail address to confirm cancellation, but they prorated the credit. How petty to charge me for one week out of 52.

Personally Experian sucks too. For most small lenders like credit unions, they cannot afford to report to all three so generally Equifax is chosen, but they are just as incompetent. Equifax outsources to India as I presume the others as well so if anyone had problems before, look out.

What many do not know is that when hackers cracked into Ford Motor Credit's data base, they also hacked into Experian's and since the other two CRA's are on as equal footing of incompetence as Experian you can bet they were also hacked into, but most of us will never know, but yet the burden is put on individual consumers. Personally they could do away with CRA's and I wouldn't shed a tear, because indirectly they are fanning the flames of Identity Theft.

At one time I had a high credit score but now it is near the toilet seat and eventually it may be flushed out, but in the time my score has dropped I've never had a late payment. I am lucky. The only thing I did was to give up a $15,000 limit credit card for a $2,000 limit, because I knew if my identity was ever stolen CRA's wouldn't do squat and would have wasted a lot of life. You see a person isn't judged buy making payments on time. They are judged by how much credit they have and how much of it they use. If you have a $15000 limit and only use $2000 they rate you high, but if you have a $2000 limit and max out they you are considered a deadbeat. Now if that isn't fanning the flames of Identity Theft then tell me what is?
