While viewing my bank statement online I noticed a charge for $79.95 for CIC*CREDIT MONITOR SVC 800-220-2626 CA. I did not know what this charge was for only that I did not order any credit reporting service, nor did I authorize this. I will be contacting my bank tomorrow to see what can be done. This was billed to my account on 4/2/04.
Judging by the amount of complaints on this company why have the internet service providers not blocked the pop up screen from this company or warned unsuspecting computer users? Had I not keyed in CIC Credit Monitor I would not be aware of the fraud. This seems to be a nationwide problem. What can be done about this?
