I received my credit card bill in the mail and reviewed charges as always. A charge dated 8/18/03 CIC*Credit Monitor Svc 877-513-4175 CA for $79.95 appeared. I never heard of this company and don't need credit monitoring. I phoned 1-877-513-4175 several times pressing just about all the numbers, put on hold for over an hour and never ever received a real person on the line. I got the run-around on the phone.
I then called my credit card company to have the charge removed but must wait 30 days for a dispute letter to go out and come back. Pooeee! I would hope that with so many complaints about CIC*Credit Monitor Service that credit card companies would wise-up and protect their consumers from such fraudulent ripoffs.
