For anyone who is looking to do something about being ripped off by these culprits. First for the man with the $5,000.00 loss. Have you reported them to the Federal Trade Commission. Secondly, you can also file a claim with your insurance business policy renters/fire / business policy if you have one. The other thing is contacting your credit card company fraud department and bank fraud department.
This happened to me once from a company claiming to jump start a medical billing business for me within 90 days. What I did to the contract was add a clause right above my signature, that included that if on the 90th day no business was made like promised then a full refund is due. This helped the
post office to track the fraud alert also. The post office has a fraud department also for the business location. Anyway, there was a sequence where i provided a copy of the signed contract and the added clause i had faxed over to the bogus company on my deal and I was returned all $11,000.00.
Remember never do business or give someone large sums of money without a contract specifying what you want in return for the payment. God luck.
