I got denied a personal loan to fix my car through my credit union due to my low credit score so I was looking and applying online. I applied for many different loan services and they all asked if I had a checking or savings account. Not thinking anything of it, National Platnium, required me to put my account and routing information. So I did thinking my information was secured. They withdrew $99.95 from my checking account and I called the companys customer service and got a male rep that was very rude. I then asked for a manager and he said he was it and there were no other reps available that I had to talk to him. I then knew something wasn't right. He gave me a fax number and told me to fax over the police report and he closed the account and sent it to their fraud protection. He gave me a hard time when I asked for the direct number to the fraud protection department; stating they aren't going to talk to me until they get the report. He stated that the $99.95 can not be refunded because it was a one time emrollment fee and there are no refunds allowed. My bank can't do anything either because I gave them my information. I have never applied for any loans or credit cards online and wasn't aware of my account information being at jeopardy.
