I have done a lot of reading and have also been contacted by these less then reputable debt collectors. Let me say a few things up front I know to be fact.
1 I worked for a reputable debt collector when I was about 19.
2 I have never had a credit card with a limit over $300 in my life

If you are a Texas resident, youll be happy to know that we have some of the best consumer protections in the United States as they relate to the collection of debts. Texas Law, specifically Texas Finance Code, goes much further than Federal debt collection laws by providing a set of detailed guidelines that must be followed by debt collection firms and credit reporting agencies.
