American Residential Law Group-
Do NOT use them, don't contact them asking for help.
They will rip you off. To be frank, I personally want to travel to Florida and find the owner of the company and beat the living hell out of them. I don't care if I go to jail, justice will be served.
I originally contacted them in December when I saw an article in the Denver Post.
The article explained how they help borrowers facing foreclosure modify their loans.
I was in foreclosure and facing a sale date in December. I decided to sign on with them on 11/17.
They convinced me that they would obtain a modification which would have greatly benefited me.
1) I would have avoided foreclosure.
2) would have place my current balance of $18K and added it to my principal, instead of being owed in a lump sum
3) lowered my payment (interest rate)
Why am I 18K behind you ask?
I've been in and out of loan modifications for over 2 years with Aurora Loan Services.
They claimed that I was in modification when I received a foreclosure letter and sale date in December.
I paid American Residential Law Group $2400
to represent me. Once I signed and sent the necessary paper work to move forward.
I thought they were working towards a permanent modification from ALS. (Aurora Loan Services)
I did not hear from them since, I had to come up with $6K to avoid foreclosure, and owe ALS
$3500 a month for the next 6 months.
I sold everything I own and borrowed extra money to pay American Residential Law Group to help.
That was an extra $2400 that I could have used, not to mention they were never in contact with me directly to notify me what was going on.
I'm not a mean person, I just want a little respect and integrity, they run and hide, they won't contact me and I leave messages with them on a regular basis. I am planning on going to Florida soon and speak with the owner directly and beat the s*it out of him. If its a her, then I'll have to think of something else.
People you make promises to people already in a very difficult situation to begin, take their money and hide should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Unfortunately, our government doesn't monitor or regulate this or the mortgage companies that screwed us in the first place.
No wonder some people go crazy these days. I feel like I'm on the brink. How does these people sleep at night?
