In 2005 BC/BS authorized a procedure to be done and Ocala Endoscopy proceeded.in Dec BC/BS stated that Ocala Endoscopy should refund payment because my husband had cancelled the insurance in August. I was not aware of this and procedure was done in Sept. Ocala Endoscopy is having me pay $1270.59 even though that is not what the insurance company usually pays. I told them that if indeed they had prior approval then the insurance company should pay a part of this bill for they were incompetent for was I aware of the cancellation I would have postponrd the test because it was not urgent. Their response is that BC/BS can do whatever they want because it's a govt insurance and they would not negotiate the amount. I need this to be addressed by people who know these laws because this is so WRONG.
