I have also had all the problems with Fairbanks that are listed in this site, lete payments when sent on time, outrageous legal fees, etc., but was able to get out due to a friend, who is also a banker, and refinanced us. Well, we went to the act of sale with the new mortgage company on the 17 of November and the sale was finalized that day, with the money being wired directly to the attorney for Fairbanks Capitol the same day.
Well to make a long story short, I had a representative from Fairbanks Capitol come to our house 12/20/03 and left a note on our door for us to contact the Loan Servicing Center. We called and they told us thay our payment was late. I informed them that the loan was paid off and they were no longer our mortgage company. The gentleman that I was speaking to said, "Oh yes, it's noted here that the mortgage was paid off, but we didn't get the money yet" I told him that he better check with the attorney for his company on that, and also to put a note in my file, that if any representatives from Fairbanks Capitol sent me a letter or came to my house again I would file charges on harrassment against them.
