This morning i received a message on my phone from a Matt Johnson (whatever) from the Department of Law and investigation, with a thick Indian accent. He said that there was a fraud alert out against my son for furniture fraud, that I needed to call him back with all my information and my sons information so that "we could work it out.
I immediately knew it was a scam because of the way that he was talking. I could barely understand him.
I called him back and the number said that it was an out of country number, and could not be reached. I then used reversed phone number and got the city that the call was originated from, or so i thought. I then called the phone company in that city and told them about it, and they didn't really seem to care. Just a note, the lady that I talked to from the fraud department at the phone company had the same accent... Hmmmm.
Frustrated with that, I called the number again and this time he answered. I told him that I had reported his number to the police, he started to laugh and asked me when are they coming to get me!!!
This is outrageous, I hope that something can be done, so that some unsuspecting trusting people don't get ripped off by these people.
