Hello my name is yvonda simmons i work for the chicago police dept. I went to the currency exchange on western&lake called western and lake 24-hr currency exch.inc. The address is 149 n western ave. Chicago il, 60612. I go there some times to cash my check.
I work the midnight shift so when i do go it is right after work. The same lady has been cashing my check for years there and i grow to trust her. She is a older women maybe about in her early 50's. On nov the 16th i went there to cash my check about 7: ooam. And the same lady that cashes my check was there she work the night shift. I do not know her name. But this day she took 100.00 usc dollars from me.
She was counting my money out and i was counting as she count. But today she had a fan next to her and the money was blowing away as she counted it so when she finish counting it the first time she put back a hundred dollar bill.
Then she counted it again and i was couting with her but she was couting a little faster this time. My first mind told me to recount my money when she gave it to me but i did not. I didn't because i trust her.
Well i walked out of the place and got into my car and i started to count my money because it was really bugging me that i saw her put back that hundred dollar bill. When i counted my money it was nine hundred and ninety dollars and eighty two cent. So i went back into the currency exchange and told her. She closed her station down and started to count her money. She told me to leave and come back and if it come up she would give it to me.
Well when i came back she told me that she was not over a hundred dollars. Well i got mad and told her that i do not have money to give away. So she told me to come back at 11:00 pm when the house counts everything that was taken in that day.
I called up to the currency exchange at 11:30 and asked her again about my money and she told me that the house was only over thirteen dollars. I told her she was a liar and that i was going to file a police report. And she said have i ever took any money from you before and i said have i ever came back to you and said that my money was short?
Well i know it is my fought that i didn't count my money right there in front of her. But i trusted her and she got me. I know there is nothing that i really can do but i'm very hurt about this and feel so stupid.
If there is anything i can do about this please help me. I'm going to talk to her supervisor tomorrow. I know he or she might not do anything but they would know what kind of person they have working for them. The telephone number to the currency exchange is (312) 421-5391.
