While building my credit, I became a user of the Wired Plastic pre-paid debit card. It was a very useful tool and I continued to use their services even after my credit improved sufficiently enough to receive an actual credit card. I have had absolutely no problems with Wired Plastic during all those years... Until THIS year. When I saw my card would be expiring 08-01, I called Wired in July asking when I would be receiving the new updated card. I was assured the card would automatically be sent to me. August 1 comes. No card. I wait until mid-August and call. Only to be told that the card had been sent. Ok. Another 10 days goes by. No card. Call them again. No card has been sent. BUT they will send one now.
Another 10 days. No card. Call again. Oh. Hmmm. Well, we will do a "manual" push and have a new card generated and sent to you. Nope. No card. Now I am discovering that each time I call regarding the "no-card" issue I am charged 95 cents! Doesn't sound like a lot, but when you called 6-8 times, it adds up. AND you do NOT have an option of making your inquiry online because you get a canned answer back, telling you to CALL. SO, here we are... It's now past 08-31 and no card.
I have 100 a pay period deposited into my Wired account. So they have my money and I can't get to it! Call again. Ok. They will NOW express me a card. Ok. So do it. But FIRST they have to declare the old card lost or stolen. I said, the old card WASN'T lost or stolen. You haven't sent me the new replacement card for the EXPIRED one. But. We HAVE to declare it lost or stolen before the system will send you a NEW card. Ok. WHATEVER! Just send me a NEW CARD. So. Today I check my account. I have been charged for a lost or stolen card!!!
