Listen ye, Listen ye. Please do not use this debt company for anything. I have been totally ripped off for the last 2 years by Mach 3 aka My Debt Company. I am in more debt now than I was before using this company.
In I experienced a change in jobs and reduction in salary. After surfing the internet for answers to my credit card debt problem, I filled out a few applications for debt help and left phone numbers where I could be reached. That same night, I was contacted by one program and the next day 4 more companies; from which I chose a representative from Mach 3.
Worst decision I have made in 49 years. These people told my fiance and I that we should not speak to the creditors and that once the funds in my account built up, they would begin to pay off the creditors. They promised to pay off each card (4) at a minimum of 50%, and that the length of the program would be 30 months.By the way, the total debt was $9,840.00.
For the last 2 years, I have paid this company approximately $6,000.00. They lied and sent emails claiming that they had paid off certain cards when they actually had not paid off any of my credit cards after all this time. When confronted with the truth, they transfered me to other people that did not know anything about the case and at other times they refused to even return my telephone calls.
In May, we were served with a judgement from one of the credit card companies that they supposedly paid off. Again the result was more lies and more attempts to string us along.in June, we received a summons for this same company demanding payment or garnishment. Each time all of this information was relayed to Mach 3 and when we were finally able to speak with someone, we were told that it was taken care of and not to worry about it.
My fiancee even asked if we needed to call the creditor and make some other arrangements, but we were told not to do so and that they would definitely take care of it. The senior debt analyst even sent an email to me saying that the debt was settled at 40%. Needless to say, the next month told the true story. My fiance's pay check was garnished for this same credit card that Mach 3 lied to me about settling.
According to Mach 3, they always pay the smallest card off first. A week after the garnishment started, the credit card company with the smallest balance called to talk to us about the card. They informed us that they would send paperwork with an offer to settle at 50%, and they did just that. This information was faxed to Mach 3, but nothing was ever done.
I am appalled with the very nerve and gall of this company to put on such a fasade to entice people to sign a contract with them when all along they all know they are noting but scam artists. I called a couple of times to ask to skip a payment, and these liars told me that I really needed to make the month's payment because I had payments due to these creditors that would soon be paid off; so I sacrificed and made the payment.
To date, these people have not paid off any one of my creditors and the only explaination they give is more lies. Our lawyer told us that we could file suit, but that with travel and other issues; it would probably cost us more than it's worth. It feels like I gambled on a long shot and lost everything I had.
