This was one of the plans my Pain Managment doctor was on. Now because of some clause of another Medicare plan (that was a no compete plan) they had to drop TexanPlus. I had a 15 day notice. There are no other Pain doctors on the plan anywhere near me. I have been with this doctor for almost four years now. I am finding imposible to find a good orthopedic surgeon on the plan. The good ones (the ones that every doctor reccomends, and referrs patients too) do not belong to this insurance. I brought up the fact that this insurance being new to the selling agent, he told me that this insurance had been around for something like 50 years. I found out from my insurance administrator, in one of my doctors offices, that this is a new company and is very "willing and wanting to get new doctors on the plan." I don't understand why my GP is having trouble getting signed up. He said that he would join which ever plan that I signed up for. I started my coverage on May 1. I am a bit suspicious of the primary care doctor that I was assigned to. I only see him fo things that I know will cost a bunch, other wise I pay to see my previous doctor of many years. The first, and only time I went to him, he wanted to give me a full physical, eventhough I told him I had just had a work up with my GP just 2 weeks prior. He also wanted to SELL me some kind of supplements for digestion, and other things. I have never had a doctor do that. I have a unique balancing act of medications for pain that I don't want messed with.
