Recently my mother received a letter informing her of she had been chosen as a secret shopper from Data Research Corporation. This letter included a check for $1998.25. The check was written on Core First Bank and Trust and had a the check number where the routing number is supposed to be. It had scam written all over it.
When I was trying to look it up on the internet I found Liberty Research and Management Corporation who sent out the same check in the same amount $1998.25, with the same address, asking you to do the same secret shopping routine, (Wal-Mart, The Gap, and send a Western Union wire of $1500 to another secret shopper).
They had a phone number with the same area code, and get this, they used the same contact name for information, Mike Campbell. However, by now Mike Campbell had teamed up with some chick named Cindy and dumped Sandra from his previous scam. Is Mike dumb or is he too lazy to re-vamp a new scam.
Please don't wire him any money.
