I also received a secret shopper acceptance letter with a check from this company and suspected right away that it was a scam and I would lose money in my bank account if I deposited it. I went to the bank and asked about whether the check was good and as soon as it was told that it involved Western Union and wiring funds, the woman said that it wasn't real. I also received a check from Target Corporation with a letter about acceptance for secret shopper and it also involves doing a wire transfer of funds as the first assignment after you activate the check online and have the funds available so probably just another scam which would cause my bank account to get overdrawn for that amount of the check.
