Re: Robert Aguayo - Stratusphere Marketing, Inc. 6829 s. 40th LN
Phoenix, Arizona 85041 Phone: 602-621-7968 Email address: [email protected] Category: Credit & Debt Services May 30 In June my father got into a business relationship with Mr. Robert Aguayo, of Success Star Marketing (now Stratusphere Marketing, Inc.). Transactions of a few thousand dollars were made via PayPal and all agreements were made over the phone. Later, my father mentioned his large credit card debt to Aguayo who then represented himself to my father as an agent of Bright Credit services. Aguayo offered to help my father with his credit card debt by talking to the credit card companies and getting them to settle for a lesser amount.
At the start, after giving my father all the details of how the process was supposed to work, Aguayo requested money from my father to be used as a "trust fund from which he could draw to make his negotiations with the credit card companies more effective. My father complied with his request, sending Aguayo $9,500 on September 22 (via PayPal). After several months of no progress on my fathers credit card accounts, Aguayo promised to finish paying off the accounts by January 4. I contacted Aguayo by e-mail on Dec. 29 and asked him to inform me when the accounts had been paid off, which he promised to do in a return e-mail dated Dec. 30. The January 4 deadline came and went without any progress. My father called Aguayo who explained that the delay was due to his computer system crashing. Later in the month, after still no progress, my father called again and this time was told that the delay was due to Mr. Aguayo having to visit his mother in the hospital. On February 1, with my fathers permission, I e-mailed Aguayo and demanded return of the money my father had sent him (with a deadline of February 8). Aguayo did not respond to my e-mail.instead he called my father and promised to come through, but did not do anything. On February 26, Aguayo sent the following e-mail message to my father: This is just to inform you Stratusphere Marketing Inc will be issuing a refund to [my fathers name] for the amount of $9500.00 on or by March 15 if you have any questions contact me at 800-701-3129 Robert. Y. Aguayo. Unsurprisingly, after March 15, Aguayo came up with excuses for not issuing the refund. Later, he sent a $4,500 check to my father. The check, of course, bounced. As of May 29, Aguayo keeps promising to pay back my father, but his checks keep bouncing, and he does not keep his promises.
It is clear to me, and now my father, that Robert Aguayo has been stringing my father along with excuses and we question the integrity of his business operations.
