Deny Insurance claim to get out of paying

I am 53 years old. I was living in Noblesville, In. Along with 3 of my adult children and their children. (6 grand children). One daughter (Tiffany) was going through a divorce, another daughter (Emily) had 3 children not married, and my son Timmy and his new born daughter. That made a total of 10 of us which I was supporting and taking care of. I was living on my disability Social Security from an injury that I had in 1996 which led to me losing a job at Honda of America Mfg.inc.in Ohio of 17 years. Well it was a little stressful non the less. I had decided to go to Ohio for a short period and relax at an ex relative of mine. I did just that in June of 1996. Things were going great. I had paid all of the bills before I had left and the idea was to have my three children make it on their own for a few months. I went back to Indiana about every 2 weeks or so. Was on the phone every day with them.

Just to let you know I am explaining all of this in detail because part of the problem that American Family Ins. Is riding on is that I had Abandoned my property.

Well around Aug. 2009 my daughter Tiffany move out of my house and her 2 children and went to live with her grandmother in Columbus, OH. That was fine. All was going fine. My son Timmy had gotten a job and Emily had some child support coming in and all of the bills were getting taken care of. Well around Sept. Emily and her 3 children decided to come to Ohio to visit also. It ended up that she moved in with a girl friend of hers and then got a place of her own back in Bellefontaine, Oh. Again that was fine. She was doing something on her own.

This is when things start to go bad. That left my son there alone with his daughter. I had it in my head that I would go back and let my son be the only one living with me. A lot less stress. I had been talking with my mother who is 88 years old and has my sister of 65 lives with her. She was the actual owner of the house I lived in. A double wide nice three bedroom house in a trailer park. She found out that my son was there alone and thought that was not a good. I told her that I was going to be going back shortly in the next couple of weeks. Well she thought that is should be like the next day. With her being 88 now and her mind is not quite what it used to be. She had my sister go to the house to see my son and ended up telling him that he would have to move out until I got back. Now we are dealing with myself at 54, my mother 88 and my sister 64, and my son 21. My son called me and said what was going on. I told him to stay right there and not to worry about it. They could not kick him out in that short period of time let alone at all. Well they bothered him so bad that he did leave and moved in with his daughters mother.

Like I said I was planning on going back in a week or so and everything would be fine. Well Timmy went back to the house a few days later to get a few more things of his and his daughters. He found that the house had been broken into and either everything stolen or destroyed. Cut up with knives and stuff like that. I instantly called the local law and made the proper reports. I then called my mother to let her know what had happened and to let her know that it would probably not have happened if they would have just left my son alone. She then told me that if I did not get back there like that day she was going to sell the house. I told her that I probably had no reason to at that time because of the theft and destruction. I told her I was going to make an insurance claim with American Family Ins. And see what I could do. Well she just acted like she didn't care to much about things except selling the house and that was it. So she must have already been talking with a buyer because that is just what happened, she sold the house on Nov. 8. This was right around a week or so after the theft.

I had contacted American Family Ins. About the theft and a Melissa Orlando (Adjuster)
started the claim. She immediatley mailed me a check for $1000.00 for emergency clothing and such. I then decided that I was just going to rent a home there in Bellefontaine and not mess with the mess that my mother and sister had caused.
On Nov. 29 American Family Ins. Mailed me a 2nd check for $5000.00 to help me get moved into my new rental. Melissa Orland and I had very good communications going at the time and she had told me that she was going to wrap things up and get the final check to me. I had been able to retrieve pictures and copies of invoices for a lot of the more exspensive items that were lost via the internet. She said that I had done a very good job supplying the info to her and she had no problem with the final check. Well the check got to her boss, Mr. Oprenchak to sign and that was the end of that. After messing around to around the beginning of Jan. 2010 he sent me a letter of denial stating that I had abandoned my property. There had been an adult there every day up to just when the breaking and entering had happened. All this amounts to is American Family is not wanting to pay on a claim that they owe. As far as I am concerned they are breaking the law themselves. They know that I am not broke and they just think they can push me aside. Well I am trying to do the best I can and I just can not let this go. I need some help here for this unjust of a big company like American Family Ins. It also turns out that the agent I had purchased the policy from is either retired or lost his agency. They will not give me any info about him. So I have no agent to turn to. Please help me and my family with this unjust. I not only lost all of my belongings but also my childrens and grandchildren toys, clothing, beds and everything. Poor kids had no Christmas 2009. I know some of this sounds a bit crazy but this is exactly what happened to the letter. The truth and nothing but the truth which I can prove.
