I owed a debt to M1Y Direct for an online payday loan that I took out. The debt was sent to CCR a collection agency. I made payment arrangements through this company to debit our checking account each month. My issue is not with this company but rather there payment processing center. My final payment was due to come out of my account for $205, this payment was approved through my account. The next day my normal monthly payment of $170 was charged through my account. When I called the payment processing company STA Ck Processing (866-680-7524) they told me they only ran a payment for $170 because the payment of $205 did not go through. I told the girl on the phone, who claimed her name was "Andrea" that this is incorrect and they ran two payments, the only AUTHORIZED payment was for $205. The payment they ran for $170 is UNAUTHORIZED and is a FRAUDULENT charge and I would be reporting them for committing fraud on my account. She immediately changed her attitude with me and told me I had no right to be hostile with them. I replied of course I do, you STOLE money from me, what you did was illegal, and I will report you to the proper authorities. I filed a complaint with the BBB, my bank and cancelled our debit cards. I did call and spoke to CCR who made me send over something from my bank confirming the double charge and they returned my call immediately after receiving the fax saying that the credit would be issued today. I told them if I didn't see it by Friday morning I would call them back.
For the record, it is unethical and illegal for companies to charge things to your account that you did not authorize. This company had no business placing a charge on my account that they were not told verbally by me they were allowed to do.
