Bank of American-Beware They are Scammers

Sometime in my husband and I decided to look into changing banks. We saw that Bank of America was offering a free checking account if you had direct deposit. Since his check was dd we decide to apply for an account online. It did not give us an answer right away; it said it would notify us of their decision. Around a month later I received 2 debit cards in the mail.By this time we had already changed to a different bank. I call the 800 number and told them, thanks but no thanks. The customer service pre told me not worry about it as long as we did not authorize cards account would be closed. We never activated cards or account.

On Monday, May 10 at 8 am I received a very nasty call from NCO, a collection agency. I told them they were crazy, I didnt owe BOA any money. After being told what a worthless piece of dirt I was by Holly at NCO, I hung up on her. That afternoon a letter was delivered to my mailbox from NCO telling me I owed BOA $72.60 in overdraft fees from BOA.
On Tuesday, May 11, I called BOA customer service number and spoke to Cameron. After explaining the situation to him, he agreed I should not have been charged these service fees and gave me another number to call. This number was the fraud department. I spoke to Shandtae? (I don not know if this is spelled correctly, she would not spell her name for me). Who said to me quote let me tell you what you will do; you will pay your debt to BOA. I dont care what your excuse is. We hear these excuses all the time from people like you. When I asked to speak to her supervisor I was put on hold for 15 minutes then disconnected. I called back and once again asked to speak to a supervisor. After being on hold for 10 minutes, I was transferred to another number, where an automated message came on to tell me there was no one to take my call and disconnected.

On Wednesday, May 12, at 10:30 am I tried once again to speak to a supervisor, same result. I called back at 3:30 pm, the same thing happened again.
So to me this shows what kind of business Bank of America is running. To me this is nothing more than theft and blackmail. I will end of paying this money just to clear up my credit report. But if any person on the street did this to someone else they would be charged with fraud. As far as their customer service department, I believe they should change their name. There was no a bit of customer service shown to me. Bank of America you should be ashamed of yourselves. This is a scam plain and simple. And as for Shardae? Dear, what comes around goes around comes around. I do hope you learn some manners and how to speak to the public in the future; It could come in handy in your life. As far as people like you, if you mean a middle age couple who have paid their bills, lived with in their means and worked hard to raise two children through college (one a police officer, the other a special needs teacher) then I guess you had me pegged correctly. Beware of this bank and their unethical practices. Kim Charlotte NC
