These people are unbelievable. I like so many got suckered. These people sent me a credit card so I thought and gave an 800 # stating call to activate. This company seemed to be a great company that helps people reestablish their credit. HA! They do let you know that this card is for purchases in their catalog which has all the items you would find in a local mall. They also state that their is a one time activation fee of $199.99 and would be off set by a $199.99 credit on your first purchase over $500.00. Sounds good so far.
Then they ask for your checking account number over the phone (CLAIMING) the call is being recorded, this makes it sound legit. I hesitated giving my checking account number but then they said that they would not debt the account for 3 weeks and I would recieve my catalog and everything else within 5 days. If I chose to the said I could call anothe 800# to cancel and that I would be under no obligation until the debt took place. O.K. I figured if I did not like what I saw in 5 days I would cancel. Well let me tell you these scammers thought of everything. The 800 cancelation # is bogus. You call it and a recorded mesage says " Please hold and the next available rep. Will be right with you... It then gives a ring sound like your being transfered and again the same recording comes on.
I listened to this repeat itself for 45 min.'s and started to realize this number was bogus.in order to prove it to my self I put it on speaker phone and waited. Went to lunch and ran some erans. Came home 3 hours later to hear the same recording going. This continued for 8 hours until I said it is proof enough for me. This whole thing is a scham. I closed my Bank account immediately and am still not reassured that they can't force the funds from the bank in which I will be charged over draft fees because it is a closed account. I the filled out a form that will supposedly dispute the charge for me when it takes place.
I hope I caught it early enough. I won't know for 2 weeks but regardless I have every intention of notifying the FBI tomorrow and possibly seeing what attorney would like to jump on a for sure winning case. If you recieve anything from this company or one like it throw it away and do not think twice about it. If you have been scammed by them contact FBI right away. The only way to get rid of these scammers is for us to all stand up and do something about it. FBI is only a start. If you see any employee of CCA shoot them in the head!!!
