Met, Rochester Financial Group. MetLife securities. Met Insurance Boiler Room operations, Mass employment to get your family and friends. No support. You pay them!

I want to point out to all sales reps or individuals wanting to get into the financial services field about a few things I have learned along the way. 20 years in the business and I have never come across such a blantant boil room operation as with MetLife insurance company.
First of all they give you this "Test " to make sure your not working for the FBI and that you have enough friends and family to make their evil plan a success with you.
They "finance" you to get you going. You sell all your freinds and family their products and they send you to several very lame classes to keep your interest along the way. 99% of all hires leave within the first 3 to 6 months. They pass all your business that you did to the "inner circle" of ten people that have been there for 25 years and make up the real group of consultants that Metlife wants and needs to keep things flowing.
You Pay them for your office, the paper, the ink, the classes, the books, you split your commissions with those that need to help you close and complete the intense paperwork that is required. They know only one thing at this company, what are your numbers. Period. You work for yourself but have to following a zillion rules and regulations and play the kiss ass office political game that is deep there. Michael Conley must have a PHD in Bullshit as they tell you what you want to hear but when its time to assist you they toss you out in front of the bus and let you go. I was there for 4 years and made "Leaders" my first year. They were to support me due to this level and talked alot of talk but when it came down to it. Nothing was done. He plays good cop bad cop with the marketing director who was in fact this flip flop, gum chewing, valley girl that only catered to her click, the "inner circle".
The trainer is someone that could not make it in sales so they promoted her to trainer, go figure. I am shocked by the things I've seen and heard while employed there.
They rave about diversity there also and how they love gay people, but its all about getting the gay community to invest and buy there products. I came out after a very successful year there. 60 people found out in like 20 minutes. Three Italian guys who worked there made comments and one threatened me. I did report them and nothing was done at all. Macho, jock Michael Conley obviously doesn't like the gay boys as he really backed off on many plans he had for me unless it was all just a trick to promiss the world and then let you starve. The golden rule in metlife is let trouble starve and feed those who are successful. I was there 4 year and saw hundreds of people come and go after bringing in their freinds and family. Financing ends and say you make 80,000.00 that year. You pay 30,000.00 for the office. 20,000.00 for misc. And they you pay for books and all costs of doing business on top of that basic costs. You pay metlife to use their name and unless your making 250,000.00 its not worth it.
If you fit into their politics they can feed you the leads and support youi through marketing so that you succeed. As "Rep of the day" I was to take all walk ins and calls coming in on a certain day. This was a period when Kodak was laying off alot of people in Rochester, New York. Michael Conley had all phone calls and walk ins diverted to his office during this period and he distributed that business to his buddies and "inner circle" by breaking the office system of sharing leads.
If you ever have a serious complaint about say someone who wanted their money back due to the market conditions that prevail today. MetLife is useless and leave it mostly up to you to work it out. They actually gave back 225,000.00 to a client of mine after 2.5 years of doing business with me because she had mental issues and wanted her money back by saying she didnt understand what she was doing at the time of the transaction. Met lost nothing by reversing this sale but attempted to take back several thousand dollars from my commission pool. I do not think there is enough room on here to go on. I could write a book about the deceiption and lies that the liars tell you as clients and as employees. If your young and your starting out in the financial services field go to a bank or somewhere you can get a salary or a fair deal. Metlife looks for people who have alot of freinds and family and after they are done with you, YOUR OUT THE DOOR!!! Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Tom
