At it again! And laughing! Rip-off Consumer Beware

My problem begins with the fact that I have an automatic electronic payment setup with my bank to pay $10 more than my monthly amount due to Nextcard. My August due date with Nextcard fell on a Sunday. My payment was electronically sent on Wednesday before. NexCard credited my payment on the Monday. Since there is no business on Sunday they could not have processed it. I didn't realize this until I received a collection call from them wanting to know why I was only paying $35 and not the 75 they wanted.

I looked into it while on the phone with them and found that since they put my payment through on the Monday, I was therefore charged with a $39 late fee which then pushed me over my limit and kicked in another $39 fee for that. And since I don't receive statements in paper and my payment is automatic, I got charged with another $39 over limit fee the following month for not paying the amount they wanted and only paying what I should have.

Their rep on the phone told me it is not their problem that the due date was a Sunday and refused to waive the fees that were charged since I already "used my free fee waiver" a year ago. I told the rep this was unacceptable and that any other reputable card company would have waived the fees without me asking and would have seen the oversight. He then yelled back and laughed that I was crazy and no one does that. When I informed him that, yes, in fact Bank of America does it, he procceeded to tell me I have some problems if I have to have them waive fees too, and he sat there and laughed even harder.

I then demanded to speak to his supervisor to which he replied, "yeah, ok sure, hehe." He then put me on hold and after 5 minutes the phone got picked up to laughter and I was hung up on. I called back and was refused by another rep to speak with a supervisor. I just issued them a check for the entire balance and explained I wanted to close the account. I am still receiving calls from their reps every 30-60 minutes.

Each one says, "hi I am calling to do a check by phone for your account." They still don't realize I paid them! Beware! Never get a card from nextcard!
