Celebrity White stole $150 from me. I responded to a TV Guide advertisement for a free sample, gave my card number. After the transaction, the small print says the company will enroll the customer in a program, but we can opt out. For days, no response to phone calls. On February 25, within the opt-out period, I reached a rep and cancelled, was given a cancellation number; the next day I confirmed by e-mail. On March 6, Celebrity White stole $149.95 using my card number. The credit card required I cancel the card, and receive a new one. This means I must contact other vendors with whom I use the card. Celebrity White has ignored all correspondence. This is a major loss of time. I wish I had come to this site before dealing with Celebrity White.
If you are cheated, notify your credit card company. Mine calls this the "call to cancel scam."
Consider reporting Celebrity White to a government website, the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3): http://www.ic3. Gov/default. Aspx.
