Contacted Renee while she worked for Classic Mortgage Solutions in Richardson, TX while pursuing an FHA mortgage. Fully disclosed a prior shortsale of a property we had formerly owned and provided documentation.
First home we found was a foreclosure by Bank of America. She let me know she was in the process of changing jobs and her cell phone might be disconnected—could I prepay $200 of the $690 loan fee towards her cell phone. Putz I am, I did just that. As negotiations proceeded, she was unwilling to provide information the bank and listing agent required for the prequalification and told us BOA was blacklisting her. Needless to say, we lost the house.
We found another home we were highly interested in and were awaiting inspection results. She was in the process of changing jobs and the information she began to send us had American Home Key on the fax cover sheets. We let her know there might be issues with the home the night before the inspection. She had us come in that very day, the day before the inspection, to get our paperwork taken care of and give her $690 loan application fee—she needed the full $690 to process the application but would give me back the $200 I had already advanced her. I gave her a check for $200 and a check for $490. She cashed the checks that day.
I called her the next morning and got her voicemail—I left a message letting her know the deal was off because the home had major structural damage and asked her to return the check. Several days later she informed my real estate agent she had already negotiated the check because she needed the money to see her ob/gyn and we could apply our payment to the next home we looked at.
Several phone calls have resulted in empty promises to send us back the money and angered her to let us know how hard she had worked for us and not to annoy her during business hours.
We are pursuing a mortgage through NACA and there are no closing costs or fees—we have asked repeatedly for our money since there was no loan to process.
Classic Mortgage has let us know she was not a loan processor. Phone calls to the American Home Key listed on the fax have resulted in nothing and she has since moved—however, her cell phone is still active. Stay away from this woman.
