I met David at a conference in January. Post conference he called me nearly every day for about 3 months and talked to me on the phone for hours a day. He claimed to have military experience in some secret branch that he couldn't talk about. He wore a dark suit with a bright yellow tie and a gold cross on his lapel. He claimed to be a good Cristian man. He has dark hair and bright blue eyes and looks alot like a 45 year old version of Ray Liotta (the actor). White male approximately 5'10.170-190 lbs.
We live at opposite ends of the country, but we became phone friends and I saw him again in August during a business trip to Vegas. I saw him again in September when he was involved in USAWI, turnkey REO company based in Newport Beach, CA. I came out to see a presentation at his invitation. I was thinking about investing, but didn't have the money.
Sometime around Dec '08 or Jan '09, David left the company and moved to Phoenix to work with a company called American Loan Restructuring (Changed from Federal Loan Restructuring), a loan modification company. He told me that he was going to hire a friend of his named Karen Snell (who lives in Los Angeles), to do some telemarketing and that if I gave him some money to get started, he'd double it within 6 months. I trusted that he knew what he was doing and I sent him 5 figures to start the process.
We continued to talk sporadically after that and at some point after 6 months, I was supposed to see my return. When I asked him about it, he became hostile and told me nothing had been done because I still had paperwork I was supposed to fill out. He was going to email me the paperwork in a few days.
I decided that I wanted my money back and asked him for it in an email so I could document the date, etc. But he never responded. I phoned several times, with no response and now he has changed his number. I have no way to contact him and he certainly hasn't let me know where he is!
Unfortunately, I've found another woman who has also fallen victim. We believe there are others out there and we'd love to hear from you. Perhaps we can do something together about this person.

*No permanent address - if he's working with a company will talk about 'corporate housing' - may currently be in the area of Newport Beach, CA
*Changes phone numbers/email often (I imagine to run from folks like me that he owes money!)

*Will romance you and make you feel special, but never follow through. E.G. - asks you what you are wearing and says 'absolutely nothing under these clothes'...
*Will call regularly and be a gentleman, talks all the time and doesn't let you get in a word edgewise, loves to tell stories about when he served in germany
*is a student of dale carnegie... How to win friends and influence people...
*Often ends up in the hospital due to old injuries from war or new auto accidents - he gets in more accidents than anyone i know
*Drives a white older model Mercedes, California or Nevada Plates with the letter MP (military police?)
