Santander Consumer USA took over Sovereign Bank's auto loans and cancelled the Sovereign payment books and supplied a new customer loan number. Santander is to send a monthly coupon to pay on the existing loan.
Santander fails each month to send the coupon in either a timely fashion or fails to send the coupon at all. The customer is required to send the funds electronically or by phone. Santander charges for the electronic payments as a "Convenience charge" of about $11.
Santander Consumer fails to support a payment method they offer and charges the customer for the convenience.
