June my husband and I applied for a home loan modification under President Obamas plan. Weeks, and months went by and we did not hear anything. When we called the only response we got was "it can take up to three months. We have your application and we are still processing it". Then after getting frustrated like millions of others suffering right now we called back. We were told that some of our paperwork didn't have the loan number and our names on all the papers. Which the packet sent to us did not specify. So we had to send the paper work in again. Lo and behold a week later we received a letter stating we were denied. That following saturday a loan specialist called my husbands cell phone and stated "We at Ocwen are here to help you and we will do our best". He offered my husband twenty dollars off the mortgage. This had to be a joke.
My husband angrily told him hell no. He was then placed on hold and the loan modification specialist came back with a figure that was $304.00 cheaper at a 5.1% rate than the original offer of twenty dollars off our mortgage. Hmmm. So we decided to take the offer. We want to keep our home. The specialist told my husband you will hear back from us at the end of the week. We never heard back from them so like we usually do we called. No one could tell us anything. Finally we spoke to a manager who said that the 5.1% intrest rate deal had been denied. When were we going to be notified? So Ocwen once again told us to resubmit our spending break down over the telephone. How gracious of them. That was just a thought becasue that turned into the specialist saying "we will send another package out to you again". Then the specialist stated "as of today we will start another loan modification process".
After submitting documentation after documentation to this company we have received no help or clarity on anything. People you are not alone when dealing with these unreasonable people. I just don't know who can help me with this process of being falsely denied for a home loan modification when we in fact qualify.
