Collector Claims HSBC Sold My Account but HSBC Never Heard of Them

MCM claims that Midland Funding LLC has purchased my account from HSBC and that I owe them money. I haven't owed any money on this account since May. I verified it with HSBC and they have never even heard of Midland Credit Management.
