They've been calling my 84-year old, deaf mother who has no debt and owes money to no one and claiming that she has a Dell computer debt - she doesn't even own a computer and wouldn't know how to work if she did. She has asked them to stop calling (they call in the morning and in the evening every day) but they do not stop. Even with her poor hearing she finally managed to get their phone number and I called them - they claimed that her number and name match an account of theirs, but it's just not true.
I very clearly demanded that they take her number out of their calling routine and do some more research (she only got the number about 7 months ago so perhaps they have it attached to another person and haven't updated their records). I'm hoping that my phone call will suffice. If it doesn't, what steps can I take to get them to stop calling her (it's very upsetting to her, as she doesn't hear well, and is getting on in age).?
