I just called nco today! They have a phone number to call for things like this. If you call a collection office they just want money! If you are dealing with nco Call their Consumer Help Unit at 800-709-8676. I told them that my son had a debt with them, not me. But they were still calling my house and cell phone daily! I told them my son doesn't live with me and doesn't have a cell phone! They said it will take 24-48 hours for the computers to take my cell and home number out of the system! They didn't ask any question besides what they needed to know to stop calling me! My story is true but if they are messing with you I guess you could use this story or something close!
