I ordered a free trial offer of a skin care product from XM Brands. I was supposed to only be charged $4.95 for shipping. They charged my credit card $29.01 instead.
Since then (which was yesterday), I have read many stories online of people who were victims of this scam. These people write that XM Brands continued to make unauthorized charges to their credit cards.
I called my credit card company to try to get them to not accept any more charges from XM Brands, and they said they couldn't do that. I tried to close my credit card account, and the credit card company said that wouldn't help, and that I would still be charged for XM Brands charges. That is obsurd. It sounds like there is absolutely nothing I can do, and that I will just have to continue to be a victim of theft.
